I once worked at the corporate headquarters of an internationally acclaimed company. There were many perks. To say the least. Free meals, box seats at NBA games, box seats at MLB games, more free sporting tickets, trivial items signed by b-list celebrities, to name a few. Not to mention a ride on the corporate jet every now and then. Actually it was only once.
Nonetheless, it was the good 'ol days. Working for the government doesn't seem to have quite as many perks. But it was my choice to make the career switch. And I'm glad I did. Making a difference in people's lives is more rewarding than all the perks.
Sounds cliche? Oh but it's true.
